Commissioned by Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA)

In response to the COVID-19 related cancellation of their performance at BAMPFA, poet Anne Lesley Selcer and artist Guta Galli present a collaborative video and statement authored by Selcer. The performance, which references Lygia Clark’s Baba Anthropofágica, Galli’s The Minotaur and Us, and Silvia Federici’s Caliban and the Witch via Selcer’s poem from her book Sun Cycle, is circumstantially transmuted into a video work that reflects on this gestational and suspended moment, a future not yet named.
